Double Your House for Half the Money
We were approached by Jo and Greg of Burnham Grove, Bracknell with an interesting project specification and a tight time restriction to work within. They required Landscaping to the front and rear of their newly developing property, ready for a TV Appearance on the Sarah Beeny TV Show.
The Rear of the property backed on to a lake formed from an old clay pit so correct levelling and terracing was essential. With a large slope to contend with, tight access and a short period to complete the works we really had to pull out the stops!
To the front was a sloped driveway leading to the house. Here we created two levels allowing parking for three cars and good access to the front door. Drainage was key to preventing and damp problems against the building so we installed a fully permeable resin driveway. This was edged with granite setts and matching retaining brickwork where necessary. The build up of the driveway meant it was fully compliant with SUDS regulations in relation to water surface run off.
To make outside a really useful space we created an outdoor living area incorporating a built in barbecue and pizza oven. The Paved area to the rear of the bi-folding doors was brought up to level to give the impression of an extension of the inside kitchen. The outside kitchen area was built in block work and clad in rustic sandstone blocks. The paving choice here was victorian blue limestone for its durability and neat finish. Steps were built leading to all lawn with raised planters to create an enclosed space.
